      Cubs option RHP Eric Jokisch down to Triple-A Iowa

      The Cubs optioned 25-year-old right-hander Eric Jokisch to Triple-A Iowa on Saturday, according to Comcast SportsNet Chicago. Jokisch, who made his first career major-league start the penultimate day of the season, allowed eight earned runs in 12 innings of work in Cactus League play.

      Eric Jokisch has some command issues in first career start

      Cubs pitcher Eric Jokisch had some command issues in his first career start Friday night against the Brewers. Jokisch, who failed to factor into the decision, allowed a solo home run to Jean Segura in the second and allowed a run to score on a throwing error in the third. He was charged with two runs -- one earned -- on three hits and four walks while striking out two over four innings pitched. Of his 86 pitches, 41 were strikes. Jokisch owns a 1.88 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP over 14 1/3 innings of work this season.

      Cubs set final rotation plans, send Edwin Jackson to bullpen
