Dodgers' Chase Utley gets first career start at third base Monday

Dodgers infielder Chase Utley will start at third base Monday against Arizona. The recent injury to Justin Turner (knee) will open up things for Utley at third base, although Turner is only expected to miss a couple of days so Utley's value at third won't be lasting much longer than through Monday. Utley is in a slump lately and most recently went 0 for 4 against the Pirates on Sunday. This will be Utley's first career start at any position other than first base or second base.

Report: Phillies place Chase Utley on trade waivers; Giants interested

The Phillies reportedly placed Chase Utley on revocable trade waivers on Sunday, FoxSports is reporting. Teams would have 47 hours to place a claim on the veteran second baseman, leaving Tuesday as the final day before his waiver period expires. If he goes unclaimed, the Phillies would then be free to trade him to any team--once they have Utley's approval, as he has 5-and-10 rights, which gives him a full no-trade clause. Utley, who has been with the Phillies for the duration of his 13-year career, just came off of the disabled list on Friday. Though he has been struggling for the majority of the 2015 season, he has looked a little better since his return, going 4 for 10 with three doubles. The Giants are said to be a team that has been scouting Utley recently, according to CSN Philadelphia. The Giants are without everyday second baseman Joe Panik due to a back injury, and there is currently no timetable for his return. Utley would provide a solid veteran presence for the Giants, as they continue to push for postseason play.
