Brett Carroll sent packing by Blue Jays
The Blue Jays have released outfielder Brett Carroll, who has not played in a major league game since 2012 and has managed just five at-bats since 2010. The 31-year-old Carroll was struggling at Triple-A Buffalo with a .179 batting average and just one extra-base hit in 56 at-bats.

Blue Jays sign Brett Carroll to minor-league deal
The Blue Jays have signed outfielder Brett Carroll to a minor-league deal that doesn't include an invitation to spring training, the team announced Tuesday. Carroll spent 2013 in the Pittsburgh system, hitting .222/.328/.404 with 13 home runs, 38 RBI and seven stolen bases in 275 at-bats with Triple-A Indianapolis. He has taken just five at-bats in the majors in the last three years.
