    • Mariners make slew of spring cuts

News: The Mariners optioned RHP Joe Woerman, 2B Yung Chi Chen and 1B Bryan LaHair to Triple-A Tacoma. Also, they reassigned RHP Phillippe Aumont, RHP Brodie Downs, RHP Stephen Kahn, LHP Robert Rohrbaugh, C Jair Fernandez, C Adam Moore, C Brant Ust, OF Bronson Sardinha and IF Mark Kiger to minor league camp.
Analysis: Aumont is a top pitching prospect, but he could be years from making a Fantasy impact at this point. Ignore all of these guys in all leagues on Draft Day, especially because they don't project to make an impact in Fantasy this season.
    • Ust out three to five days

News: The Seattle Times reports that the M's will be without the services of Brant Ust (back spasms) for three to five days.
Analysis: Ust is basically organizational depth for the Mariners, so his Fantasy value is minimal at this stage.
    • Mariners hand out spring invites

News: The Mariners invited RHP Phillippe Aumont, RHP Brodie Downs, C Jair Fernandez, RHP Stephen Kahn, 3B Matt Tuiasosopo, RHP Kameron Mickolio, RHP Chris Tillman, C Adam Moore and LHP Robert Rohrbaugh to spring training; Also, they signed SS Mark Kiger, LHP Philip Barzilla, RHP Roy Corcoran, OF Bronson Sardinha, 3B Brant Ust and LHP Jake Woods to minor league contracts with invitations to spring training.
Analysis: Aumont was their 2007 No. 1 pick and is a solid long-term keeper prospect, but the rest of these players are nothing more than organizational depth at this point in their careers. Ignore those players on Draft Day.
