      Brewers pitcher Neal Cotts working to fix mechanical issue

      Brewers pitcher Neal Cotts has struggled a bit with his location so far in spring training. He's been tagged for a ton of runs, leading to a 10.13 ERA in seven appearances. He's happy with how he's thrown the last two times out, reports "The last two have been better than the previous times out there. A lot better," said Cotts, who made a mechanical adjustment last week. "I know the results [Monday] weren't very good, as far as getting the first two outs quickly and then struggling to get the third. The ball is coming out better. … I'm not happy. I wasn't happy not getting through the inning yesterday after getting two quick outs. If I was satisfied with that, I shouldn't be here anymore." Manager Ron Roenicke wants to see more consistency from him. "Whether it's just confidence or whether their stuff isn't the same, that's tough to say. But we need to see more out of them," Roenicke said.

      The Brewers have reached a one-year deal with reliever Neal Cotts, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Cotts was in Milwaukee on Thursday to take a physical. He passed the team physical, and will earn $3 million next season, according to The deal is expected to be announced by the club on Friday. The 34-year-old Cotts posted a 4.32 ERA over 66 2/3 innings last year.

      The Brewers are talking to reliever Neal Cotts, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Cotts, 34, spent the last two seasons with the Rangers. After an exceptional comeback in 2013, Cotts regressed a bit in 2014, posting a 4.32 ERA. While the two sides have talked, it's unclear if a deal is close. If the Brewers were to reach a deal with Cotts, the team would have to remove a player from the 40-man roster.

Cotts was claimed by an American League team, but that was done to block him from going elsewhere.       Three Rangers have cleared waivers, according to Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Yu Darvish, Adrian Beltre and Shin-Soo Choo are now all eligible to be traded in the coming days. That doesn't seem likely, considering their big contracts and importance to the Rangers franchise. Neal Cotts was also placed on waivers, which are expected to expire tomorrow. There's a higher chance he gets dealt.
