      The Pirates announced Wednesday they optioned pitcher Kyle McPherson, infielder Jordy Mercer and outfielder Alex Presley to Triple-A Indianapolis. They also reassigned catcher Lucas May, pitcher Vin Mazzaro, catcher Carlos Paulino, outfielder Felix Pie, pitcher Ryan Reid and pitcher Mike Zagurski to minor-league camp.

      Bucs serve Pie a minors deal

      The Pirates signed outfielder Felix Pie to a minor league contract Monday. Pie spent all of the 2012 season with Triple-A Gwinnett in the Braves organization, hitting .285, and he has played five seasons in the majors with the Orioles and Cubs.
