Indians' Ryan Raburn: Club option declined by Indians

Raburn's club option for 2016 was declined Wednesday. Raburn was used almost exclusively against left-handed pitching this season, and for good reason too -- he hit all eight of his home runs and recorded a .589 slugging-percentage in 151 at-bats against southpaws in 2015. The 34-year-old actually posted career-high averages across the board, but he also recorded the fewest amount of at-bats in a season since his rookie year. However, considering his power against left-handed pitching he will likely have a myriad of options heading into the offseason and should catch on with another team looking for a platoon outfielder.

Indians' Ryan Raburn blasts off with eighth homer in win over Red Sox

Indians utility man Ryan Raburn went for 1 for 2 with a solo homer in Saturday's 2-0 victory over the Red Sox. It was business as usual for Raburn against left-handed pitching, with all eight of his homers this season coming off southpaws. Although he has only tallied 173 at-bats in 2015--primarily against the left-handers that he typically punishes--Raburn has posted an impressive .301 average that is 43 points higher than his career .258 mark.

Indians RF Ryan Raburn blasts off twice against Chris Sale

Hitting two home runs in a game is a feat. Hitting then both against White Sox ace Chris Sale is ridiculous. That, however, is what Indians right fielder Ryan Raburn accomplished Monday in Chicago. He slugged a game-tying blast in the fourth inning and untied it with a titanic shot deep into the left field seats in the sixth. Raburn, who had made a habit of hot-hitting in U.S. Cellular Field, continues to enjoy a bounce-back season. He owns a fine slash line of .299/.384/.552. His slugging percentage is at its highest point since June 7.

Indians' Ryan Raburn gets first start in last five games

Indians OF Ryan Raburn returned to the starting lineup Monday against the Tigers for the first time in five games. It was also his first start since throwing in relief during a 17-0 loss to the Cubs on Wednesday. A day after pitching in relief, manager Terry Francona said Raburn was dealing with some arm soreness. He did come off the bench and make two plate appearances Friday against the Rays. However, Raburn has started just twice in the last nine games. He was back in the lineup at DH on Monday with a lefty on the hill for Detroit. Raburn is batting .211 in his last 29 games, which has dropped his season average from .400 to .289. He hasn't homered in 10 June games.
