Report: Giants OF Angel Pagan prepping for knee surgery

Giants outfielder Angel Pagan will undergo a procedure on his right knee in the next few days, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports. Pagan has had a history of knee issues, and it appears he'll undergo another procedure to clean up another one. There's no timetable attached to it, but it's highly unlikely it will prevent him from playing at the start of spring training.

Giants CF Angel Pagan struggling mentally with inaction

Bruce Bochy has stated that Giants struggling outfielder Angel Pagan, who has missed three straight games with knee issues, could return to the lineup Thursday against the host Cubs. Pagan is having a problem with not being out there due to physical issues and struggles at the plate. He has just five hits in his last 31 at-bats and just one for extra bases since July 17. Some see it as the beginning of the end for the 34-year-old Pagan, but he certainly prefers not to. "I want to go out there every day," he told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I've been an everyday player, but because of this circumstance, I have to take a couple of days off so I can get the proper rest. I'm always going to play until the wheels fall off. "...My right knee's been nagging. It's bothered me for a while, pretty much the whole season, but I've been able to go out there and try to be consistent. These things, they're physical, but sometimes they project to your mind."
