    • Sinisi sent down Wednesday

News: The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the Padres optioned C Colt Morton and RHP Mauro Zarate to Triple-A Portland; RHP Ernesto Frieri to Double-A San Antonio; and RHP Wilton Lopez to Class A Lake Elsinore on Tuesday. The team also reassigned INF Matt Antonelli, Edgar Gonzalez and Marshall McDougall, OF Drew Macias and Vince Sinisi, LHPs Wade LeBlanc and Arturo Lopez and RHP Paul Abraham to Portland; C Nick Hundley and Jose Lobaton and OF Will Venable to San Antonio; and OF Mike Baxter to Lake Elsinore.
Analysis: Antonelli and LeBlanc are prospects worth holding onto in keeper leagues. Moron is a pretty good catcher prospect as well, and Venable, Max Venable's son, is a decent outfield prospect. Sinisi was dealing with recent wrist surgery, and he, along with the rest of these players, isn't really worth holding onto in most Fantasy formats.
    • Sinisi to undergo wrist surgery

News: Padres OF Vince Sinisi, a non-roster invitee, will have surgery Monday on his right wrist, which he fractured in two places while trying to make a sliding catch Saturday against Texas. Sinisi won't make the trip to Beijing for next weekend's exhibition series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Analysis: Sinisi made it as high as Double-A ball last season and wasn't going to break camp with the Padres. He has some work to do in the minors and should not be owned in Fantasy leagues.
    • Sinisi breaks wrist on Saturday

News: Padres OF Vince Sinisi, a non-roster invitee, broke his wrist in Saturday's win over the Rangers while sliding to make a catch.
Analysis: Sinisi had no Fantasy value before getting hurt, so continue to ignore him.
    • Padres hand out spring invites

News: The Padres re-signed RHP Edwin Moreno to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Also, they invited farm hands C Jose Lobaton, C Nick Hundley, 2B Matt Antonelli, OF Mike Baxter, RHP Paul Abraham, OF Vincent Sinisi, LHP Wade LeBlanc, LHP Cesar Ramos, RHP Joshua Geer, 1B Kyle Blanks, OF Will Venable and LHP Arturo Lopez to spring training.
Analysis: Antonelli is one of the best prospects in baseball and he might get a look at starting in left field this spring. LeBlanc, Blanks and Venable are other intriguing long-term keeper options. The rest of these guys are nothing more than organizational depth at this point and can be ignored on Draft Day.
    • Padres get Sinisi in minor deal

News: The Rangers acquired OF Freddy Guzman and RHP Cesar Rojas from San Diego for INF Vince Sinisi and RHP John Hudgins.
Analysis: Guzman could be a pinch runner option and or even a center fielder at some point for the Rangers. He can steal bases and would warrant a flier in AL-only Rotisserie leagues when he gets called up. The other players in the deal won't make a Fantasy impact in 2006 and are not considered top prospects.
