Mike Nickeas re-signs with Blue Jays
Blue Jays catcher Mike Nickeas has signed a minor-league deal to remain with the club, according to ESPN. Nickeas was outrighted by the club last month, but decided to return to the team. He played in just one game, but did not receive an at-bat.

The Blue Jays have outrighted catcher Mike Nickeas to Triple-A Buffalo, MLB.com reports. Nickeas played just one game at the MLB level and hit .166/.255/.251 in 58 games for Buffalo.

Blue Jays recall Ricky Romero, among others
The Toronto Blue Jays recalled four pitchers and a catcher on Monday night following a game in Arizona, the National Post reports. The Blue Jays recalled starting pitcher Ricky Romero and Tommy John patients Kyle Drabek and Luis Perez. The team also sent for Triple-A Buffalo's Jeremy Jeffress and catcher Mike Nickeas. Romero, who couldn't make the Blue Jays out of spring training, was called up for two starts in May and gave up six runs over 4 1/3 innings. The former ace struggled at Triple-A as well, going 5-8 with a 5.78 ERA. Drabek went 1-4 with a 3.14 ERA over three different minor league levels this season while recovering from Tommy John. He had 35 strikeouts over 43 innings.

Nickeas part of Dickey deal
In addition to starting pitcher R.A. Dickey and catcher Josh Thole, the Blue Jays acquired catcher Mike Nickeas in exchange for prospects Travis d'Arnaud, Noah Syndergaard and Wulimer Becerra Monday.
