      Yankees' Brian McCann to miss a few days due to knee injury

      Yankees catcher Brian McCann was not in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Red Sox after tweaking his left knee Tuesday. J.R. Murphy replaced McCann in the starting lineup. Manager Joe Girardi said McCann's MRI showed inflammation in his knee. Girardi said he will try to give McCann a few days off, but he is available off the bench, if needed. "I knew I did something," McCann said, per "It kinda stretched out a little bit. It felt awkward. Looking back, looking at the position I was in, I think I was lucky that that's all it is. Right now, I'm just hoping a couple of days of rest will knock it out, get it a little more stable, and we can move forward." McCann has homered twice in three August games, including Tuesday's 13-3 win. He is batting .308 (8 for 26) with two doubles, three home runs and seven RBI in his last seven games.
