Mariners going with tandem at shortstop

Mariners manager Eric Wedge wanted to make it clear that he did not bench shortstop Brendan Ryan, the Tacoma News Tribune reports. "Regardless of what has been written, I didn't bench (Ryan)," Wedge said. "I said Andino is going to play more and we're going to take it day to day, week to week and month to month and see what happens." Ryan has started the last two games after Robert Andino saw two starts at short. It looks like they'll be rotated as the position continues to be evaluated.
