    • Avoid these three Rays arms

News: Pitcher Jake McGee, pitcher Jeremy Cummings and pitcher Randy Choate were not on the initial Rays' 25 man roster Sunday. McGee is out for the season after Tommy John surgery and isn't on the 40-man roster, so he won't spend the season on the DL.
Analysis: These players can be ignored in all Fantasy leagues at this point. They won't impact any leagues in 2009.
    • Rays give Cummings minor deal

News: USA Baseball have added 32-year-old SP Jeremy Cummings to their Olympic team for Beijing, according to the Charleston Gazette. Cummings is 7-2 with a 2.82 ERA for the Triple-A Durham Bulls this season.
Analysis: "I just got the phone call this morning," said Cummings on Monday. "I was running around trying to find a passport photo all morning and I've got to pitch tonight so I've been busy. It's just an honor making the team. You never know what's going to happen." Cummings, who has said this will be his lats year of professional baseball, allowed three runs on nine hits over six innings on Monday night. Continue to ignore him in all Fantasy formats, as he won't be called up this season.

They also invited C J.P. Arencibia, C Brian Jeroloman, 1B Chip Cannon, OF Ryan Patterson and OF Travis Snider to spring training.
Analysis: Snider is an elite outfield prospect who might not make the majors before September, while Patterson is a little more advanced than that. They are long-term keeper prospects. The other players here are nothing more than organizational depth, so ignore them on Draft Day.
    • Twins make some minor cuts

News: The Twins reassigned LHP Randy Choate, LHP Carmen Cali, LHP Jason Miller, RHP Jeremy Cummings and RHP Kevin Slowey to minor-league camp. Also, they optioned OF Denard Span to Triple-A Rochester.
Analysis: Slowey is a top pitching prospect who is worth a flier in those leagues where you can stash a minor-leaguer on reserves. He could be a Fantasy factor in the second half. Span might develop into a decent reserve outfielder, while the other pitches can be ignored in all Fantasy formats on Draft Day.
