Brewers' Eric Young Jr.: Signs minor league deal with Brewers
Young signed a minor league contract with the Brewers on Tuesday that includes an invite to spring training, ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports. Young spent the 2015 campaign with the Braves and Mets, compiling a .153 batting average with 18 strikeouts across 85 at-bats, but he did manage to steal six bases. He'll compete for an outfield spot in spring training, but there are no guarantees that the speedy Young makes the opening day roster given Milwaukee's already crowded outfield.

Eric Young Jr.: Elects free agency
Young elected free agency Friday, Mike Puma of the NY Post reports. Young had a rough campaign in the majors in 2015, slashing just .169/.229/.273 with the Braves before going 0-for-8 following a late season trade to the Mets. The 30-year-old didn't fare much better in 75 games at the Triple-A level, hitting just .249 there, but he should get the chance to compete for an Opening Day roster spot in spring training wherever he lands.
