2016 Outlook: Elfrid Payton

Elfrid Payton's frame and skill set continue to make him an intriguing point guard prospect, but he has as many questions as ever entering year No. 3. The 22-year-old averaged 10.7 points and 6.4 assists per game last season, but saw his minutes fluctuate from time to time, as his continued inability to hit jumpers limits his effectiveness. Still, the Magic made a decision to move on from Victor Oladipo this offseason, a sign that they at least see the need to let Payton develop as the team's sole ballhandler in the starting lineup. With more shooting around him on the floor, Payton has room to grow, and could be in line for a breakout season, so consider targeting him in the middle rounds on a breakout candidate on Draft Day.
