Valentine compiled 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-5 3Pt), two rebounds and two assists over 20 minutes in Saturday's 117-99 win over the Cavaliers.

With Doug McDermott now in Oklahoma City, the 2016 first-round pick appears to have a fairly clear path to playing time for the moment. Valentine parlayed his opportunity Saturday into his second straight double-digit scoring effort, and his long-range marksmanship was pivotal to his success once again. Valentine has now shot 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from behind the arc over the last two games, although it's notable that this level of success is atypical for him thus far in his rookie campaign. The Michigan State product had shot just 33.6 percent from the field and 33 percent from downtown over 33 games coming in to Saturday's contest, so expectations should be tempered until he can prove his hot hand isn't a temporary phenomenon.
