Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving: Explodes for 46 points Sunday
Irving (rest) provided 46 points (15-21 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 10-10 FT), three assists and two rebounds over 38 minutes in Sunday's 125-120 win over the Lakers.
Irving had been rested Saturday against the Clippers and the time off apparently worked like a charm, as he went toe-to-toe with D'Angelo Russell to ensure a victory and playoff berth for Cleveland. It was Irving's second 40-point effort of March and third of the season, with only a 49-point tally against the Pelicans on Jan. 23 exceeding Sunday's total. The six three-pointers also marked the All-Star's best total in that category since that same contest against New Orleans. Factoring in Sunday's spectacular production, Irving is averaging 30.3 points, 4.9 assists and 3.9 rebounds across 35.3 minutes in nine March games.
