Clippers' Raymond Felton: Nine points off bench in Monday loss
Felton supplied nine points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block over 28 minutes in Monday's 104-78 preseason loss to the Jazz.
Felton saw Austin Rivers get the start with Chris Paul receiving the night off for rest, but still logged what were essentially starter's minutes. The 12-year veteran bounced back from a sluggish 2-for-8 outing against the Blazers last Thursday to post his best success rate (44.4 percent) from the field since the opener. As the Clippers' current depth chart stands, Felton is slotted third behind River and Jamal Crawford at point guard and shooting guard, respectively, but figures to log a decent allotment of minutes in the backcourt rotation as the season unfolds. Given his positional versatility, it's conceivable he could also work his way onto the floor through some small forward play when coach Doc Rivers opts for a smaller personnel grouping.
