Carter is dealing with a knee injury and is listed as questionable for Wednesday's preseason finale versus the Timberwolves, Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com reports.

Carter will likely draw the start at shooting guard if does end up playing, as Tony Allen has already been ruled out with a knee injury of his own. This is the first we've heard of Carter's injury, but considering there's a chance he'll be able to play Wednesday, it doesn't appear to be a serious issue. With that said, Carter should be available for the regular season opener on Oct. 26 and is currently slated to come off the bench behind Allen as long as he's healthy.
