Carter posted 16 points (6-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, and one block in 19 minutes during the Grizzlies' 106-74 loss to the Spurs on Sunday.

Carter helped keep the Grizzlies in the game early on, but ultimately it became a bloodbath. Though he has found his touch as a scorer over the last few weeks, Carter is a liability on defense. It's clear the Grizzlies need scoring without Marc Gasol (foot) and Mike Conley (Achilles), but sacrificing the ability to cover the other end won't solve this ailing group's problems. Carter may be likely to continue starting ahead of Tony Allen (hamstring) going forward in this series, but the 39-year-old is outmatched against the likes of San Antonio.
