Carter (knee) has been ruled out of Wednesday's preseason finale against the Timberwolves, Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

The Grizzlies are already expected to be without Tony Allen (knee) during Wednesday's contest, so the absence of Carter is another hit to the team's depth at shooting guard. Wade Baldwin (knee), James Ennis and Troy Daniels (knee) could potentially see additional minutes at the position, if all three are indeed available. Carter will have a week off to recovery before the regular-season opener against the Timberwolves on Oct. 26.
