Heat's Dion Waiters: Likely dealing with multi-game absence
Waiters (ankle), who's been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers, said his goal is to return prior to the end of the regular season, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Waiters also mentioned that this most recent sprain was worse than the one that kept him out of three games at the start of February, so this will likely be the first absence of many. His goal to return prior to the end of the season isn't necessarily encouraging either, so there appears to be the potential for him to miss a few weeks. Waiters is reportedly still using crutches and likely can't put any weight on it at this point in time, which again re-affirms that he could be dealing with an extended absence. Josh Richardson will get the first shot at starting for him Sunday, while Wayne Ellington should pick up added minutes as well.
