Heat's Dion Waiters: Officially ruled out Tuesday
Waiters (ankle) has been ruled out of Tuesday's game against the Suns, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
The announcement is somewhat of a formality, as the expectation is Waiters will miss several games after suffering a relatively severe ankle sprain Friday against the Timberwolves. Waiters, who was seen on crutches Sunday, said his goal is to return before the end of the season, so at this point his status for the Heat's next few games beyond Tuesday looks to be in serious jeopardy. In his absence, expect Josh Richardson, who moved into the starting lineup Sunday, to pick up increased minutes, while Rodney McGruder, Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington could each see mild boosts in playing time, as well.
