Heat's Wayne Ellington: Plays 27 minutes in season debut
Ellington (thigh) recorded nine points (4-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt), two rebounds and two assists across 27 minutes in Monday's 112-104 loss to the Celtics.
The Heat were expected to limit Ellington to 15 minutes in his season debut, but the team's extensive injuries in the backcourt made that impossible. While Ellington didn't provide much of an impact during his time on the court, he could continue to receive high minutes loads over the next few contests, as both Dion Waiters (groin) and Justise Winslow (wrist) have been ruled out for the Heat's three-game road trip that kicks off Wednesday. Even so, since much of the 29-year-old's value is derived from his three-point shooting, he's somewhat one dimensional as a fantasy option, making him mostly of interest in deep leagues.
