Hornets' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Leaves Monday with ankle injury

Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a sprained right ankle during Monday's game against the Hawks and won't return.

Kidd-Gilchrist played 21 minutes prior to departing, finishing with nine points (4-8 FG, 1-2 FT), three assists, three steals and two rebounds. While his injury is being labeled as a sprain, he'll likely undergo additional tests as the Hornets look to determine if the injury is more severe than anticipated. The Hornets are back on the schedule Wednesday against the Magic, so consider Kidd-Gilchrist questionable for that contest until the team provides an update.
