Jazz's Derrick Favors: Set to miss sixth straight game Monday

Favors (knee) didn't travel with the Jazz to Minneapolis in advance of Monday's matchup with the Timberwolves, Jody Genessy of Deseret News reports.

It will be the sixth straight absence for Favors, who remains without a clear timetable for a return after being diagnosed earlier this month with a bone bruise in his left knee. That's the same injury that forced Favors to miss most of the preseason and the regular-season opener, so the Jazz may not be eager to rush him back to the court right away. Boris Diaw has settled in as the team's starting power forward in Favors' stead, but Trey Lyles will frequently outpace Diaw for minutes off the bench and remains the more enticing fantasy option of the two.
