Lakers' Nick Young: Leads starters with 17 points Sunday
Young (toe) started at shooting guard and put up 17 points (6-12 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound and one steal across 23 minutes in Sunday's 109-94 win over the Hawks.
With the Lakers down two key starters in D'Angelo Russell (knee) and Julius Randle (hip), Young was the only player on the top unit to finish with double-digit points, as coach Luke Walton leaned heavily on his second unit of Jordan Clarkson, Lou Williams, Brandon Ingram, Larry Nance and Tarik Black. While Randle isn't expected to remain out for long, Russell is set to miss the next two-to-three weeks, which should pave the way for Young, Clarkson and Williams to handle most of the scoring responsibilities out of the backcourt. Since Young looked unfazed in his return from a sprained toe, he looks like a safe activation for fantasy owners heading into the new week.
