Cousins signed a contract with the Mavericks on Monday, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports.

The 6-foot-10, 265 pound big man went undrafted back in July after spending his collegiate career with South Florida, where he ended his final campaign with averages of 8.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks over 25 minutes per game. As evidenced by his blocks last season, Cousins, who is the younger brother of current NBA star DeMarcus Cousins, is also considered a rim protector and has potential on the defensive side of the ball. However, he'll need to work on his game offensively and in the post if he wants to stick around on an NBA roster. More likely, he'll start the season in the NBA D-League or overseas.
