Curry (shoulder) is expected to miss the Mavericks' final three games of the season, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

Curry had already missed the previous four games due to the sore left shoulder, and with the season winding down and the Mavericks already eliminated from playoff contention, the team decided it was best to shut the 26-year-old down in order to avoid worsening the injury heading into the offseason. Though his season will end on a disappointing note, Curry was one of the few pleasant surprises in an otherwise down season for the Mavericks. The 26-year-old averaged 12.8 points (on 48.1% shooting from the field) and chipped in 2.7 assists, 2.6 rebounds, 2.0 three-pointers and 1.1 steals in 29.0 minutes per game over 70 appearances on the season. Though the Mavericks will likely address their backcourt over the summer via free agency and the draft, Curry should be primed to open the 2017-18 campaign as the team's sixth man if he's not viewed as a viable starting option at either point guard or shooting guard.
