Pelicans' Jrue Holiday: Puts up 17 points, six assists in losing effort
Holiday generated 17 points (7-13 FG, 3-4 3Pt), six assists and four rebounds across 31 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 91-81 loss to the Mavericks.
Aside from Anthony Davis (36 points), Holiday was the only other Pelicans player to reach double figures, something that can't happen regularly if the Pelicans hope to challenge for a playoff spot. While this was just the second time in six games that Holiday has surpassed the 30-minute mark, his production hasn't suffered since his return from personal leave. He's immediately cemented himself as the Pelicans' second-best player, averaging 16.3 points (on 48.8% shooting from the field), 6.5 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 three-pointers per game in his six appearances.
