Pelicans' Terrence Jones: Posts 18 points in return from knee injury
Jones (knee) compiled 18 points (6-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds and one block across 21 minutes in Tuesday's 96-89 preseason loss to the Hawks.
After missing the Pelicans' last two games due to a knee contusion, Jones came off the bench Tuesday, even though Anthony Davis' (ankle) absence left the starting power forward role up for grabs. Dante Cunningham ended up assuming those duties, but like Jones, he struggled from the floor, scoring 11 points on 5-for-15 shooting. Jones' own inefficiency isn't encouraging, but it was good to see him take on an integral role in the offense, which could continue if Davis remains sidelined through the start of the regular season. If that's the case, Jones and Cunningham would likely split most of the minutes at power forward, with the former offering the greater fantasy upside of the two.
