Rockets' Kyle Wiltjer: Assigned to D-League

Wiltjer was assigned to the D-League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Tuesday, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Wiltjer was promoted to the Rockets in advance of their final game before the All-Star break Feb. 15 against the Heat, but the undrafted rookie out of Gonzaga failed to see the floor. Since Wiltjer was unlikely to crack the big club's rotation coming out of the break, he'll report back to Rio Grande Valley in search of regular playing time. He's been one of the Vipers' top scoring options this season with an average of 20.1 points per game.
