Bledsoe (knee) was diagnosed with a torn meniscus and will undergo surgery Tuesday, The Arizona Republic reports.

The report doesn't specify whether Bledsoe's meniscus will be repaired or removed. The first path would be preferable for his long-term outlook, but with the caveat of a longer recovery timetable. Bledsoe actually had both procedures on his other knee, first getting his right meniscus repaired shortly before the 2011-12 season, and then having it removed during the 2013-14 campaign. The first procedure led to a four-month absence, compared to a two-month absence for the removal. With the injury erasing any slim hopes of playoff contention, the Suns will likely place more weight on the long-term implications, though it's still possible that removal will be the best option. Head coach Jeff Hornacek said Devin Booker will likely join the starting lineup alongside Brandon Knight, who figures to see a bump in usage rate and possibly also playing time. Ronnie Price, Sonnie Weems and Archie Goodwin could also help fill the void for what will likely be a very bad team over the next few months.
