Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Gets inefficient double-double Monday
Towns posted 19 points (8-19 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 34 minutes in Monday's 112-103 loss to the Jazz.
While Towns claimed his third double-double in four games, he's shot under 50 percent from the field in each of those contests, and 40 percent overall during that span. The head-to-head matchup Monday with one of the league's elite defensive centers in Rudy Gobert probably factored into Towns' struggles from the field, but the lack of efficiency is still a discouraging pattern nonetheless. Even factoring in that Towns is attempting more three-pointers than last season and hitting them at a more-than-respectable 39.1 percent clip, his true shooting percentage still sits at 55.8 percent for the campaign, a drop of more than three points from his rookie year.
