Timberwolves' Ricky Rubio: Scores 11 points, but adds only three assists
Rubio supplied 11 points (4-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three assists, two rebounds and two steals across 25 minutes in Monday's 112-103 loss to the Jazz.
Rubio delivered his most efficient shooting night of the season and turned the ball over just once, but it still wasn't enough for coach Tom Thibodeau to give him a full workload. The 26-year-old has now been held under 30 minutes in four consecutive games, with second-year man Tyus Jones (14 minutes Monday) starting to cut into his playing time. It looks increasingly unlikely that the Timberwolves view Rubio as their long-term solution at point guard, and since he's still shooting just 37.1 percent from the field on the season, he'll need to pick up his play considerably if he hopes to avoid ceding more minutes to Jones.
