Week 14 Fantasy Trade Value Chart
As we reach the halfway point of the season, I retooled the trade chart a bit and added some players that have received 10-day contracts, and others who have shined over the last three weeks. Guys like Kendall Marshall , Darren Collison , D.J. Augustin , Ryan Kelly , Jodie Meeks , John Henson and Terrence Jones should all be treated as solid trade chips, especially if you're lacking depth.
LeBron James was also dethroned from the top spot by Kevin Durant , and that should be no surprise. Durant has been filthy since Russell Westbrook underwent knee surgery in late December. Since Westbrook's departure, Durant is averaging 36.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 52.4 percent from the field, and 39.8 percent from downtown over 15 games (as of Saturday). This should serve as another reminder that we all would love to trade for an elite talent like James and Durant, but the price is always unreasonably high, and it typically never happens.
Disgruntled players ( Andrew Bynum , Metta World Peace and Andre Miller ), and injured players ( Eric Bledsoe and Ryan Anderson ) have been removed from this installment of the trade chart. Keep an eye on where Bynum and Miller land.
I'd also like to take the time and offer you some great buy-low trade candidates to get you going for the final months of the Fantasy season. We've reached the point where Fantasy owners may have grown impatient with Miami's season-long maintenance program with Dwyane Wade , making him the 17th most traded player last week.
As of Saturday, Wade has played in 31 of Miami's 44 games this season, which means he's only played in approximately 70 percent of the games. But what has driven owners crazy is that there hasn't been much of a pattern with his days of rest, which may have already cost some owners in head-to-head formats. Though his scoring has been down to its lowest since his first season out of Marqutte, some may not realize Wade has remained relatively productive when healthy, averaging 18.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this season. In fact, his 54.0 percent shooting -- and 42.1 percent from downtown -- are a career-best, granted he has taken less shots. He is averaging 20.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.9 steals per 36 minutes, which is nearly identical to last season's numbers (outside of PPG). Over the last five weeks, Wade has gone from being started in 90 percent of CBSSports.com standard league to just 48 percent in Week 13 (Jan. 20-26).
Another player that has been often traded as of late is Ricky Rubio , which doesn't make too much sense because he's never been a prolific scorer. Rubio was only limited to 57 games last season, averaging 12.9 points on 36.0 percent shooting from the field and 23.3 percent from 3-point land. This season, he has played 42 games but his scoring has taken a dip, as he's averaging a career-low 9.8 points on 35.4 percent shooting, and a career-best 36.6 percent from downtown. In addition, Rubio has also remained somewhat productive outside of his scoring, as he is on pace for career bests in assists (9.4), boards (5.3) and steals (3.1). It's also worth noting that 23-year-old Spaniard still has a ton of room for improvement, and has never played more than 57 games in a season. Barring an injury, he'll easily break that this season.
So what can you get for Wade and Rubio? Well, I'm glad you asked. Here are some trades that went down involving Hawes in actual CBSSports.com leagues.
Dwyane Wade and Greg Monroe for Andre Drummond and Tyreke Evans This is a perfect example of an owner overreacting. Evans hasn't necessarily been the healthiest of players in Fantasy and has only played six more games than Wade. I'd give the edge to Wade and Monroe here, especially if you have another option to replace the rebounds you'll lose with Drummond.
Ricky Rubio for Rudy Gay This is a trade that I actually don't have much of an issue with. Although his shooting percentage has improved, Gay's rebounds have taken a dip since he joined Sacramento. He averaged 19.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 38.8 percent from the field through 18 games with Toronto. In 21 games with Sacramento, Gay has scored 20.1 points on 52.3 percent shooting from the field. He has also averaged 4.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists over that span.
Dwyane Wade for Derrick Favors This is another deal with which I don't have many issues, especially if you have the frontcourt depth to replace Favors, and vice-versa. Favors had been dealing with a hip injury last week, but did not miss much playing time. Favors would only get the slight edge because of health, but I'd give this transaction a push.
