McRoberts has officially accepted his $6 million player option for the 2017-18 season with the Heat, Zach Lowe of ESPN reports. McRoberts saw just 22 games during the 2016-17 campaign, averaging 4.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists across 17.3 minutes per game. He was sidelined most of the season with a fracture in his left foot.
McRoberts (foot) will only be used in an emergency during Wednesday's game against the Wizards, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. McRoberts, who hasn't seen the floor since late December, will only be used in an emergency situation during Wednesday's game. The fact that he's returned to practice over the past few days is a good sign for his postseason availability, however. With Luke Babbitt (hip) also unlikely to play, expect James Johnson to draw another start at the power forward slot.
McRoberts (foot) will be in uniform for Monday's game against the Cavaliers, but isn't expected to play, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. McRoberts hasn't played a game since late December and despite returning to practice over the last few days, he's unlikely to see the court Monday. Fellow big man Luke Babbitt is unlikely to play as well, which should leave James Johnson and Okaro White to take on the majority of the power forward minutes.
McRoberts (foot) has been upgraded to questionable for Monday's game against the Cavaliers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. McRoberts has been sidelined since late December with a foot injury, but has been practicing for the last few days and appears to be inching toward a return. With just two games left on the regular-season schedule, it's unlikely that McRoberts will be ushered back into the rotation while the team remains in contention for a playoff spot, but if all goes well during morning shootaround Monday, McRoberts could at least be available for the first time in more than three months.
McRoberts (foot) participated in a full-contact practice Monday, Tom D'Angelo of the Palm Beach Post reports. Though coach Erik Spoelstra noted that McRoberts' role in the full-contact practice was "a short stint", the fact that McRoberts is simulating on-court action is a good sign for him and the team. There's still a possibility that he'll return before the end of the season, though he's still listed as out indefinitely.
