Hickson (coach's decision) didn't see the court in Wednesday's 103-92 win over the Pistons. Hickson has been active lately with Wilson Chandler (hip), Jameer Nelson (wrist), and Darrell Arthur (quad) occupying spots on the inactive list, but those absences haven't cleared the way for more playing time for the 27-year-old. He's made only three appearances in the Nuggets' last 32 games, playing a combined total of 13 minutes.
Hickson, who missed Wednesday's win over the Warriors after undergoing a root canal, didn't play in Friday's contest against the Heat due to a coach's decision. Hickson has been an infrequent member of coach Michael Malone's rotation since early December, so he likely wouldn't have played Wednesday even if he had been available. It sounds like he's since received clearance to take the court, but he'll likely remain buried on the bench until further notice. He's appeared in just one of the Nuggets' last 18 games.
Hickson will not play Wednesday versus the Warriors as he recovers from a root canal, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post. This will be the 16th missed game out of the last 17 for Hickson. It is unclear how long of a potential absence this will be, but he is likely day-to-day. His next opportunity to play will be Friday versus the Heat.
Hickson (coach's decision) didn't play in Saturday's 101-86 loss to the Spurs. The Nuggets were without four players due to injury Saturday, but Hickson unfortunately finds himself as the 11th man in coach Michael Malone's 10-man rotation. Hickson hasn't played since Dec. 8 and should continue to struggle to see the court outside of blowout wins or losses.
Hickson started Tuesday and posted a double-double, putting up 10 points (4-10 FG, 2-6 FT), 11 rebounds, and a block in 29 minutes in a loss to the Magic. Hickson received the start after Joffrey Lauvergne was forced to sit out with an illness, and he really took advantage of it. The 29 minutes were his most since November 11, the 10 points were his most since November 24, and the 11 rebounds were his most since November 9. It remains to be seen if Hickson will play this much once Lauvergne returns, but this strong performance certainly doesn't hurt his case for more playing time.
