Sacre played eight minutes and contributed five points (1-1 FG, 3-4 FT) and three rebounds over eight minutes in Tuesday's 103-81 loss to the Clippers. Sacre actually outproduced starting center Roy Hibbert (zero points, four rebounds in 16 minutes), but that isn't that hard to do these days. Hibbert's been a massive disappointment in a starting role this season, but coach Bryon Scott has shown no inclination to drop him from the top unit. As a result, Sacre will continue to languish as a lightly-used third-string option at center behind Hibbert and Tarik Black.
Sacre scored 10 points (5-5 FG) and added five rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes during the Lakers' 106-98 loss to the Kings on Tuesday. After seeing the court only three times during February, this was Sacre's first game action in March. Given the fact that he sat out the previous seven contests despite being healthy, it's safe to leave Sacre on waiver wires.
Sacre will get the start Monday against the Pacers, Baxter Holmes of ESPN reports. Roy Hibbert (ankle) has been ruled out, so coach Byron Scott will tab Sacre to make his first start of the season. Sacre has been used sparingly this season and has played double-digit minutes in only one game since Christmas. The Gonzaga product is best avoided in daily contests, as it's likely both Brandon Bass and Tarik Black will see considerable run at center, as well.
Sacre (coach's decision) didn't play in Tuesday's 92-90 loss to the Lakers. Sacre doesn't typically see the floor in competitive games, so it's not surprising to see him ride the pine in a two-point loss. He's appeared in just three of the Lakers' 14 games in January.
Sacre totaled 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-4 FT), six rebounds (three offensive), one steal, and one block across 27 minutes in Wednesday's 120-85 loss to the Thunder. After playing just two minutes in Tuesday's narrow win over the Nuggets, Sacre saw a huge boost in playing time when Wednesday's contest quickly turned into a blowout in the third quarter. Starting center Roy Hibbert has been playing terribly of late, but given the investment the Lakers have in him, Sacre isn't likely to join the top unit at any point this season.
