Taylor has re-signed with Spanish club Real Madrid, Sportando reports. A second-round pick by the Hornets in 2012, Taylor spent three seasons in the NBA before heading to Spain last summer. During his first year with Real Madrid, he averaged 6.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in Liga ACB play.
Hornets guard Jeff Taylor will become an unrestricted free agent after the Hornets bypassed his option for next season, sources told Yahoo Sports. In 29 games last season, Taylor averaged 4.4 points and 1.8 rebounds.
After starting Jeff Taylor in Saturday's win over the Hawks, coach Steve Clifford said he was pleased with how Taylor played, reports The Charlotte Observer. "He did a good job," Clifford said. "He was locked in from the beginning of the game. Last [season], when Michael Kidd-Gilchrist got hurt, he had some really good games. I think his concentration was up and he played really well." In 27 minutes of play Saturday, Taylor scored nine points along with two rebounds and two assists and Clifford indicated Taylor could remain a starter in place of Lance Stephenson. "I think Lance has played better with the second unit than the starters," Clifford said.

The Hornets announced an MRI taken on Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's right hamstring revealed a hamstring strain and he has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Pacers and Tuesday's game against the Pistons. He will be reevaluated after the All-Star break. Guard Jeff Taylor will start in Sunday's game in place of Kidd-Gilchrist. Meanwhile, an MRI confirmed center Bismack Biyombo is still dealing with a knee bruise. He last played Jan. 24 and is expected to miss at least the next two weeks. Center Cody Zeller should see his role increase while Biyombo is sidelined. The Hornets are 2-point underdogs to the Pacers.
