Capela was excellent on the offensive end, missing just once from the field, and he was rewarded with just his second 30-minute workload in the last 20 games. He also surpassed the 20-point mark for the second time this month and finished second only to James Harden in rebounding. Capela continues to operate extremely efficiently when he is on the court and could stand to benefit from a production standpoint if he continues to receive the requisite amount of playing time.
Capela posted 10 points (5-7 FG) with 13 rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots across 29 minutes in Friday's 117-107 win against the Pelicans. Capela remains in the Top 5 in field-goal percentage, but it's his defense lately that is trending up. He managed just one blocked shot through the first seven games in March, but he has swatted six shots over the past four outings while snagging 8.5 boards per contest during the span.
Capela scored 12 points (6-8 FG) to go along with nine rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block across 27 minutes during Monday's 125-124 win over the Nuggets. Capela was typically efficient from the field and neared his season averages in points and boards, but he supplemented his line with four assists and some useful defensive stats as well. The 22-year-old continues to produce more often than not and boasts an impressive 21.42 Player Efficiency Rating on the season, with relatively limited playing time being perhaps the only factor limiting his ascendance into the upper echelon of fantasy centers.
Capela supplied 16 points (7-13 FG, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, one steal and one block over 24 minutes in Saturday's 109-105 win over the Nuggets. Understandably overshadowed while playing in the same offense with James Harden, Capela has nevertheless become a dependable source of secondary scoring. He's now posted double-digit scoring in seven of nine March contests, with four of those efforts double-doubles. He's also hauled in between seven and 12 rebounds in eight of his last nine games, making him one of the more dependable mid-tier fantasy producers at the center position as the season winds down.
Capela ended up with 15 points (5-7 FG, 5-8 FT) while grabbing 10 rebounds across 21 minutes in Wednesday's 139-100 win against the Lakers. Capela continues to be a tremendous asset to fantasy owners in rotisserie leagues, as he ranks third in the NBA in field-goal percentage (.644) behind just Rudy Gobert of the Jazz (.653) and DeAndre Jordan of the Clippers (.702). He is not showing any signs of slowing down and relinquishing his hold on the starting center job in Houston.
