Kings' Rudy Gay: Out for Sunday

Gay (ankle) has been ruled out of Sunday's matchup with the Celtics, Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reports. Gay's absence for Sunday isn't all too much of a surprise, considering he was ruled doubtful earlier in the week after spraining his left ankle. It doesn't appear likely that he will be ready to play by Monday when the Kings take on the Cavaliers. Look for Omri Casspi to see his minutes elevated with Gay out.

Kings' Rudy Gay: Doubtful for Sunday

Gay (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday's game against Boston, Jason Jones of The Sacramento Bee reports. Gay left Friday's game early in the first quarter with a sprained left ankle and did not return to action. He was initially considered day-to-day, but has since been downgraded to doubtful in advance of Sunday's matchup with the Celtics. Omri Casspi is the likeliest candidate to step into the starting lineup should Gay miss Sunday's contest.

Kings' Rudy Gay: Goes back to locker room with ankle injury

Gay turned his left ankle early in Friday's contest and has gone back to the locker room, Mike Mazzeo of reports. Gay was able to walk back to the locker room under his own power, which is an encouraging sign, but there's still no word yet on his status for the remainder of the game. Kings' Rudy Gay: Posts 32-9-6 line Monday

Gay (eye) recorded 32 points (13-20 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 38 minutes during the Kings' 111-104 win over the Bucks on Monday. In his first 12 appearances of 2016, Gay is averaging 20.6 points on 55 percent from the field to go with 6.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks per contest. His eye doesn't seem to be bothering him, and he stepped up big time with DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) sitting out Monday. If Cousins is forced to miss more time, Gay would likely be called upon to shoulder a larger scoring load once again.

Kings' Rudy Gay: Listed as out Thursday

Gay (eye) is listed as out for Thursday's game against the Pelicans, Brett Dawson of the New Orleans Advocate reports. Gay took a finger to the eye in Monday's overtime loss to the Hornets, and he'll sit out his second straight game Thursday after missing Tuesday's loss to Portland. Omri Casspi got the start at small forward in Gay's place Tuesday, and that will likely continue to be the case until Gay is cleared to return. Consider the UConn product day-to-day and questionable for for Saturday's matchup with the Grizzlies in Memphis.
