Nuggets' Wilson Chandler: Undergoes surgery Monday

Chandler wrote on his personal Twitter account that he underwent successful surgery Monday to repair the labrum in his right hip. As was reported a week earlier, the procedure will end Chandler's season, but he's expected to be back to full health for the start of the 2016-17 campaign. In Chandler's absence, Will Barton has already taken on an increased role as the Nuggets' sixth man, and he should continue to gobble up plenty of minutes for what remains of the season.

Nuggets' Wilson Chandler: Undergoes season-ending hip surgery

Chandler (hip) will undergo season ending hip surgery, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports. This is obviously unfortunate news for Chandler who will try to regroup and get healthy for next season. The extra minutes Gary Harris and Will Barton have been receiving early on this season will now likely become permanent. Denver may also rely more heavily on Danilo Gallinari throughout the year.

Nuggets' Wilson Chandler: No return timetable

Chandler (hip) is without a return timetable, the Denver Post reports. "I know that they are exhausting every and all option to try to get him back," Coach Michael Malone said. "Obviously, he's been out for a while. We miss having him. He's a big part of what we're trying to do." Chandler has missed all seven of Denver's games to date, and he's yet to return to practice in any capacity. Initially, the team's training staff believed he'd miss roughly two weeks, but the hip is healing more slowly than anticipated. In Chandler's absence, the Nuggets brought in Kostas Papanikolaou, but the Greek forward has averaged just 5.3 minutes in three games.

Nuggets' Wilson Chandler: Still over a week away from return

Chandler (hip) is still over a week away from returning to action, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports. Chandler, who succumbed to the right hip strain shortly before last week's season opener, hasn't resumed practicing with the Nuggets yet. Until that happens, the Nuggets likely won't be able to pinpoint a return date for the forward.

Nuggets' Wilson Chandler: To miss another 7-10 days

Nuggets coach Mike Malone said Sunday that Chandler (hip) would miss another seven-to-10 days, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports. The Nuggets initially gave Chandler a one-to-two-week timetable when he was diagnosed with the right hip strain prior to the season opener, and based on Malone's follow-up report, it appears the swingman will be facing the long end of that recovery window. In Chandler's stead, Will Barton should remain the beneficiary of around 20-to-25 minutes per game.

Nuggets' Wilson Chandler: Out 1-2 weeks

Chandler (hip) will be out 1-2 weeks, but the injury isn't considered serious, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports. Chandler played in more games in 2014-15 than he had in any other season of his nine-year career, but he will start the 2015-16 season on the sideline as his hip heals. Darrell Arthur and Mike Miller are the likely candidates to pick up Chandler's minutes as they come off the bench behind Danilo Gallinari.

Nuggets' Wilson Chandler: Will not play in opener

Chandler (hip) will not play in Wednesday's opener against Houston, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports. Chandler is dealing with a strained right hip, and he'll miss at least one game after visiting with a specialist on Monday. The Nuggets haven't offered a return timeline, so consider the versatile forward day-to-day until further notice. As Dempsey notes, Will Barton is expected to step into a larger role in Chandler's absence.

Nuggets' Wilson Chandler: Out Wednesday with a hip strain

Chandler (hip) will be out for Wednesday's game against Houston with a strain, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports. With Chandler out, look for Will Barton to fill many of the minutes the veteran forward usually occupies. There is no indication yet of how long Chandler will be out, but at the moment it doesn't look like it will sideline him for very long.
