Nets' Thaddeus Young: Posts double-double in Friday's loss

Young scored 14 points (7-17 FG, 0-2 FT) with 10 rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes during Friday's loss to the Celtics. It's his third double-double in his last four games and fourth of the year after recording just three all of last season. Young has also scored 13 or more points in all 10 November games, as he settles in as one of the Nets' primary scoring options.

Nets' Thaddeus Young: Scores 27 points on 17 shots Wednesday

Young recorded 27 points (11-17 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 33 minutes during the Nets' 116-111 loss versus the Hornets on Wednesday. After having x-rays taken on his non-shooting wrist following Tuesday's game versus the Hawks, Young showed no ill effects from the fall, scoring a season-high and game-high 27 points on Wednesday. Through 12 games, Young is averaging 15.8 points (54.0 FG, 12.5 3Pt, 66.7 FT), 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.6 blocks in 31 minutes per game. The veteran forward is likely to continue seeing 30 or more minutes a night while producing solid scoring and rebounding numbers, as the Nets just don't have the depth of talent to challenge Young for playing time.

Nets' Thaddeus Young: X-rays are negative

Young underwent an X-ray on his right wrist after falling on it in Tuesday's game against the Hawks, but everything checked out and he says he will be ready for Wednesday's game, ESPN's Mike Mazzeo reports. It is worth noting that his fall was serious enough that an X-ray was taken, but it sounds like he will play through any lingering discomfort Wednesday in Charlotte.

Nets' Thaddeus Young: Scores game-clinching free throws in Tuesday's win

Young scored 16 points -- including a pair of game-clinching free throws -- with 11 rebounds and five steals in Tuesday's 90-88 win over the Hawks. After posting a season-high in points Saturday against the Warriors, Young followed that performance up with a season-high five steals to lead the Nets to a much-needed victory. It was his second straight double-double, as Young continues to shoot the ball incredibly well from the floor.

Nets' Thaddeus Young: Posts huge double-double in overtime loss Saturday

Young collected 26 points (12-22 FG, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, and three steals over 39 minutes in Saturday's 107-99 overtime loss to the Warriors. Young amassed his season high in scoring while also posting his second double-double of the season, in what was a valiant effort by the one-win Nets against the reigning NBA champs. The veteran forward has particularly well to date in the new campaign, with his field goal percentage (53 percent) sitting slightly above his career 50 percent mark. Young typically has served as a third scoring option so far this season behind frontcourt mate Brook Lopez and starting point guard Jarret Jack, but is certainly capable of occasional outbursts such as this one. He slots as a solid source of mid-tier offensive and rebound production for fantasy purposes, and is usually an appealing cost-effective alternative in daily leagues.

Nets' Thaddeus Young: Posts 16 points, nine rebounds Friday

Young came within a rebound of a double-double, posting 16 points (8-13 FG), nine boards, an assist, and two steals over 30 minutes in Friday's 111-109 loss to the Kings. Young was one of several Nets starters that turned in solid offensive performances, something that is par for the course for the veteran power forward on most nights anyhow. Young narrowly missed collecting his second double-double in the last three games, but did manage his second-best scoring total of the season. The 27-year-old has been a source of modest but steady offense and rebounds for a Brooklyn squad still trying to find its way offensively in the new campaign.

Nets' Thaddeus Young: Posts 19-8 line versus Celtics

Young scored 19 points (9-17 FG) and grabbed eight rebounds in a preseason loss to the Celtics on Wednesday. Young might be the most talented youngster on this Nets roster and they'll need him to perform lie this all season to be successful. After being shipper from Philly to Minnesota to Brooklyn, Young is out to prove that he is still an effective player. The lefty provides nice scoring and rebounding numbers while regularly finishing in the top-20 in steals every year.

Nets PF Thaddeus Young tallies eight in 18 minutes Thursday

Nets power forward Thaddeus Young generated eight points on 4 of 8 shooting, four rebounds, and four steals over 18 minutes in a preseason defeat of Detroit on Thursday. Young is slated to start this season after re-signing with the club this summer on a four-year, $50 million contract. He averaged 29.6 minutes per contest with Brooklyn in 2014-15, and it's difficult to see him carving out a much larger minutes load this season, even with few attractive options behind him on the depth chart.
