Hornets' Kemba Walker: Goes off for season-high 39 points Monday

Walker went off for a season-high 39 points (16-23 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT) in Monday's come-from-behind 127-122 overtime win against the Kings. It was "Kemba Time" Monday in Charlotte, as Walker turned in a vintage performance. He nearly gave the Hornets the win had it not been for Rudy Gay's alley-oop off an inbounds play with 0.7 seconds remaining to force OT. Walker also finished with six rebounds, five assists, two steals and an unorthodox three blocks.

Hornets' Kemba Walker: Has efficient night Wednesday

Walker went for 18 points (5-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 5-10 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, and one steal in 29 minutes during the Hornets' 116-11 win versus the Nets on Wednesday. Through 12 games, Walker is averaging 16.5 points (42.2 FG, 37.0 3Pt, 77.6 FT), 3.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.7 steals, 0.5 blocks, and only 1.8 turnovers in 32 minutes per game. Walker has proven he can post solid assist-turnover ratios in the past, and he has continued to do that this year. The career 32 percent three-point shooter might not be able to continue knocking down triples at this rate, and his assists have dipped a bit with Nicolas Batum and Jeremy Lin taking on their fair share of play-making duties. However, this has easily been the most efficient and well-rounded play we've seen from the 25-year-old Walker during his NBA career.

Hornets' Kemba Walker: Has cold shooting night

Walker had a cold shooting night, posting nine points (2-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 27 minutes of action Wednesday against the Knicks. Walker struggled mightily in Wednesday's game and didn't contribute much in other categories to make up for his poor shooting. Teammate Jeremy Lin had a solid game off the bench, which made it hard for Walker to stay on the court for long. Owners can hope that he bounces back sooner than later, as Wednesday's performance was not one to remember in fantasyland.

Hornets' Kemba Walker: Tallies 14 points Thursday

Walker tallied 14 points (4-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven assists, two rebounds, and a steal over 30 minutes in Thursday's 108-94 victory over the Mavericks. The fifth-year pro turned in another solid performance, and was able to post a season-high in dimes. Walker has been slightly more of a distributor of the ball this season, with his scoring average just over two points under last season's number and his assists having seen a slight uptick over the Hornets' first five games. With Marvin Williams' outstanding play down low and new backcourt mate Nicolas Batum's solid play, Walker's points could likely reside in the teens on may nights.

Hornets' Kemba Walker: Scores an efficient 17 points on Sunday

Walker scored 17 points (4-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 7-8 FT) to go along with six rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 31 minutes during the Hornets' 94-92 loss versus the Hawks on Sunday. Walker had his best showing of the season on Sunday, contributing his 17 points on only nine field-goal attempts. Though the Hornets run a lot of their offense through Al Jefferson and Nicolas Batum, Walker still has plenty of responsibility in terms of making plays for others, and will likely continue to be a solid source of scoring and assists so long as he's able to remain healthy.

Hornets' Kemba Walker: Strong effort from line and on defense in opener

Walker led the Hornets with 19 points (5-for-16 FG, 8-for-9 FT), four rebounds, four assists, two steals, a 3-pointer and a blocked shot with zero turnovers in 35 minutes in the season opener on Wednesday. Walker's line was reasonably close to expectation, though he was a bit more off from the field but more aggressive and productive from the line than usual. Walker also contributed to both defensive categories, rounding out a solid debut.

Hornets point guard Kemba Walker will play against the Pacers on Thursday. Walker will be available to play after suffering a left heel contusion Monday. Charlotte's starting point guard could see another notable season as he averaged about 17.3 points and 5.1 assists last year.

Hornets G Kemba Walker sits with heel injury Wednesday

Hornets talented guard Kemba Walker (heel) has been ruled out for the Wednesday preseason game against the Pistons. Walker was originally expected to play but it appears the team will err on the side of caution as he sits in preparation for the season opener Oct. 28 against Miami. There's no reason to believe his status for the opener is in jeopardy, unless he suffered an unannounced setback.

Hornets' Kemba Walker: Expected to play Wednesday

Walker (heel) did not practice Tuesday but is expected to play Wednesday against the Pistons. Walker bruised his heal during Monday's preseason win over Chicago, and while he'll rest Tuesday, the issue doesn't appear to be anything serious. Walker finished with 22 poinst and two steals Monday night.

Hornets PG Kemba Walker suffers a left heel contusion Monday

Hornets point guard Kemba Walker was diagnosed a left heel contusion in Monday's game versus the Bulls. The injury doesn't seem to be anything serious, as he is still available to return to the game. A return does seem unlikely however, given it's a preseason contest and the Hornets will want to give his heel some time to heal. It is something to keep an eye on heading in to the start of the season though.
