Suns' Markieff Morris: Puts up 17 points in Saturday loss

Morris put up 17 points (6-22 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight assists, seven rebounds, two blocks and a steal over 36 minutes in Saturday's 98-89 loss to the Jazz. The 26-year-old held his own in a tough battle with the Jazz's stalwart frontcourt, posting double-digit points for the fourth consecutive game while coming just a couple of rebounds short of a double-double. Morris did struggle for the field for the second straight game, and has now shot under 40 percent in four of the last five contests. He did drain multiple threes for the first time since Dec. 23 versus the Nuggets, and the big man's long-range shooting touch does help add a valuable dimension to his game and fantasy production. Unlike his tumultous relationship with former coach Jeff Hornacek, Morris appears to mesh well with interim man Earl Watson, and appears to have a secure spot in the starting five for the time being.

Suns' Markieff Morris: Explodes for 30-11-6 line Tuesday

Morris recorded 30 points (13-20 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 11 rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and one steal in 41 minutes during the Suns' 104-97 loss to the Raptors on Tuesday. With the Suns moving on from coach Jeff Hornacek and promoting Earl Watson as the interim coach, Morris may very well continue to start going forward. Watson said Morris will be the main focus of the offense, and the Suns could certainly use his scoring punch if they hope to be competitive on a nightly basis. Morris posted season-highs in scoring, rebounding, and assists on Tuesday, and matched his season-high in blocks. If he is out there on any waiver wires, it'd be wise to scoop him up fast.

Suns' Markieff Morris: Will start in Tuesday's matchup

Morris will get the start in Tuesday's game against Toronto, Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic reports. Morris has seen the starting lineup now and then this season. Tuesday will be his first time starting since January 19th. Look for him to see a minutes increase by virtue of injuries to teammates and being in the starting lineup. It's unclear if he'll remain in the starting lineup for any games going forward.

Suns' Markieff Morris: Could see more minutes with coaching change

Newly instated interim head coach Earl Watson implied Tuesday that Morris could start seeing more minutes in the duration of the season ahead, Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic reports. The relationship between former head coach Jeff Hornacek and Morris clearly soured during the first half of the season as the forward was moved to the bench and registered numerous DNP-CD. The coaching switch could certainly enhance Morris' lackluster value, but there are still question marks surrounding his future in Phoenix after averaging just 23 minutes on 32 outings. Nevertheless, Morris is still an enticing option buy-low option who could start to see his 2015-16 campaign take a turn for the better.

Suns' Markieff Morris: Scores 13 points Sunday

Morris had 13 points (5-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists, and four steals in 26 minutes during the Suns' 91-78 loss to the Mavericks on Sunday. Morris swiped a season-high four steals. Meanwhile, fellow forward Jon Leuer, who has been dealing with back spasms, received a DNP-Coach's Decision after suiting up for Friday's game against the Knicks. Morris is undoubtedly being shopped around, but it's unclear whether the Suns will receive an offer that compels them to move him before the deadline.

Suns' Markieff Morris: Plays 24 minutes in return

Morris (shoulder) tallied eight points (3-7 FG, 2-4 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal across 24 minutes in Tuesday's 113-103 loss to the 76ers. After a two-game absence, Morris was cleared to return to the court, but played behind Alex Len, who may have taken control of the starting job at power forward. Even if Morris continues to stick in a bench role over the Suns' next several games, he should benefit from seeing a fair amount of playing time, especially while Jon Leuer (back) remains sidelined.

Suns' Markieff Morris: Will play Tuesday

Morris (shoulder) will play on Tuesday against the 76ers, Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic reports. Morris returns to the court Tuesday night after missing the past two games with after suffering a shoulder injury in last Tuesday's loss to the Pacers. Morris, the usual starting power forward, will come off the bench as Alex Len and Tyson Chandler will start in the frontcourt, as they have done the past two games. The 26-year-old could see his minutes monitored on Tuesday, as the Suns look to prevent the shoulder injury from returning.

Suns' Markieff Morris: Probable to play Tuesday

Morris (shoulder) has been upgraded to probable for Tuesday's game against Philadelphia, Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic reports. Morris sat out the previous two games with a right shoulder issue but averaged 20 minutes on the court during his previous five games. It appears that he's momentarily back in coach Jeff Hornacek's good graces, although there's no telling if Morris will truly be a reliable fantasy option since off the court issues still cloud his relationship with the organization.

Suns' Markieff Morris: Questionable for Tuesday's game

Morris (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the 76ers, Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic reports. Jon Leuer (back) is also being listed as questionable for the contest, and if neither he nor Morris is cleared to play Tuesday, Alex Len would likely make a third straight start at power forward. Morris, who has missed two games with a right shoulder strain, would likely be asked to play only limited minutes if he ends up being available Tuesday.

Suns' Markieff Morris: Ruled out Saturday

Morris (shoulder) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Atlanta, Chris Vivlamore of the AJC reports. Morris had been considered probable as of Saturday afternoon, but his shoulder injury will in fact keep him out for the second consecutive game. His absence Saturday will further strain an already banged up roster that is missing several key pieces, including Brandon Knight and Eric Bledsoe in addition to John Leuer and Ronnie Price. Mizra Teletovic could fill in at power forward, but he is questionable with an ankle injury.
