      Byron Mullens opts out, Jason Richardson opts in for 2014-15

      76ers general manager Sam Hinkie announced some housekeeping notes Friday following the draft, noting that guard Jason Richardson picked up his player option for 2014-15 season, while center Byron Mullens did not. Richardson did not appear in a game for the 76ers last season, while recovering from a knee injury. Mullens appeared in 18 games with the 76ers following a late trade, averaging 6.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 13.7 minutes per game.

      76ers center Byron Mullens made a rare impact off the bench Wednesday, in a 102-94 loss to the Bulls. Appearing in his 12th game since a trade from the Clippers, Mullens reached double figures for just the third time Wednesday. He score 12 points on 4 of 5 shooting, with a pair of 3-pointers made, while adding three rebounds, one block and two steals in the losing effort. Mullens has been just a role player for the 76ers, topping 20 minutes played just twice and averaging 6.9 points per game.

      76ers acquire Byron Mullens at deadline

      The Clippers traded little-used center Byron Mullens to the 76ers Thursday, just before the deadline. The Clippers received a conditional second-round pick, while moving a second-rounder of their won as well. Mullens had appeared in just 27 of the team's first 56 games, averaging 2.5 points and 1.2 rebounds in 6.2 minutes per game. Mullens should play more with the Sixers than he did with the Clippers, and he has been productive in the past, averaging 10.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game fore the Bobcats last season.
