Dionte Christmas: Signing with Hapoel Holon in Israel

Christmas is signing with Israeli team Hapoel Holon, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! reports. Waived by Cleveland during the preseason, the 29-year-old Christmas made each of his 31 NBA regular-season appearances during the 2013-14 campaign. He may be back next year to try out for another team, but he faces an uphill battle to catch on in the NBA.

Cavaliers' Dionte Christmas: Waived by Cavaliers

Christmas was waived by the Cavaliers on Friday, Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Releasing Christmas puts the Cavaliers at 17 players, bringing them two cuts away from the regular season roster max of 15. Christmas last played with the Suns during the 2013-14 season, where he played in 31 games and finished with averages of 2.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists over six minutes. Considering he spent a whole year away from the NBA, it wouldn't be surprising if he failed to garner any further interest. Christmas may opt to begin the season in the NBA D-League in hopes of receiving a contract offer later in the season.

Dionte Christmas held scoreless in five minutes Sunday

Suns guard Dionte Christmas was held off the scoreboard for the first time in three games Sunday, playing just five minutes in his team's 101-94 win over the Pelicans. Christmas didn't attempt a shot in the game and didn't make an impact in Sunday's action aside from recording two personal fouls. With Goran Dragic back on the floor for the Suns, Christmas will likely to continue to see sparse minutes moving forward.

  • Christmas heading to Russia

News: Much-traveled guard Dionte Christmas signed with CSKA Moscow in Russia after being released by the Celtics earlier this month. Boston signed Christmas to a partially guaranteed contract last July and invited him to training camp.
Analysis: This is the second trip overseas for Christmas, who went undrafted out of Temple in 2009. He has obviously had a difficult time breaking through in the NBA and should remain untouched in all Fantasy formats at this point.
