Bulls' Jordan Crawford: Waived by the Bulls Thursday

Crawford was waived by the Bulls Thursday, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports. While this isn't a huge surprise, Crawford has been a solid contributor on NBA benches in the past. He's averaged 12.2 points in 25 minutes per game during his NBA career. The Bulls have Tony Snell, Jimmy Butler, Kirk Hinrich, and Mike Dunleavy, which makes it hard to justify keeping extra weight around at the wing positions. Whatever ends up happening, Crawford should find a home somewhere this season, whether that be the NBA or overseas.

Bulls' Jordan Crawford: Doesn't see the floor Monday

Crawford was a CD-DNP in the Bulls' 94-86 preseason loss Monday in Charlotte. Crawford is on his sixth team in just his fifth season in the league. He's been a solid option off the bench for a handful of teams, averaging 12.2 points and 24.7 minutes per game in his career. However, the shooting guard may have difficulty seeing the same role with Chicago this upcoming season because he's backing up Tony Snell, Jimmy Butler, and Kirk Hinrich on the depth chart. Additionally, Mike Dunleavy (lower back) will take even more playing time away from Crawford when Dunleavy returns.

Jordan Crawford signs non-guaranteed deal with Bulls

Guard Jordan Crawford signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Bulls, Yahoo Sports reports. Crawford last suited up in an NBA game during the 2013-14 campaign. He logged an injury-shortened stint in the Chinese Basketball Association and eight more games with Fort Wayne of the D-League last season. This summer, he suited up for the Mavericks in the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 10.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.5 steals in 25 minutes. His shooting stroke from three-point range escaped him there, as he knocked down just 3 for 27 en route to 36 percent shooting from the floor. If that trend extends into training camp, the 26-year-old guard will likely be hard-pressed to land an extended look with the Bulls.

In return the Warriors will send guard Toney Douglas to Miami, and the Heat will send center Joel Anthony and two future draft picks to Boston. The deal likely means Rajon Rondo is very close to returning for Boston, as reports indicated earlier in the week. Crawford was putting up career numbers as Boston's interim starting point guard, averaging 13.7 points and 5.7 assist on the year. Brooks, on the other hand, has barely logged a minute since being traded to Boston from the Nets.
