Clippers' Jamal Crawford: Collects 20 points off bench Friday

Crawford poured in 20 points (6-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), a rebound and an assist over 27 minutes in Friday's 102-91 loss to the Blazers. J.J. Redick (back) returned to the court Friday, sending Crawford back to his usual sixth-man role. He was highly productive off the bench, particularly from beyond the arc. Crawford nailed a season-high five three-pointers and shot 63 percent overall from long range. While the elevated scoring total was certainly welcome by fantasy owners, it's notable that it was only the second time in 12 games that Crawford has posted 20 points or higher.

Clippers' Jamal Crawford: Tallies 15 points in start Thursday

Crawford tallied 15 points (6-16 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and two aassists over 40 minutes in Thursday's 124-117 loss to the Warriors. Crawford followed up his spectacular 41-minute outing against the Pistons last Saturday with another considerably extensive stretch of time on the floor, but the veteran was unable to duplicate the offensive success he'd enjoyed versus Detroit. It was the 35-year-old's second straight start in place of the ailing J.J. Redick (back), but he had the benefit of the returning Chris Paul (groin) as a backcourt mate Thursday, which also played a role in Crawford taking on less of a scoring role. Regardless of the reduced production, it was his fifth consecutive double-digit scoring performance, as well as the fifth straight contest in which he drained at least one three-pointer. Crawford figures to return to his customary sixth man role once Redick is cleared to return.

Clippers' Jamal Crawford: Scores game-high 37 in Saturday's win

Crawford got the start Saturday in place of J.J. Redick (back) and scored a game-high 37 points (12-27 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 10-10 FT) with eight assists, six rebounds and a block in 41 minutes during Saturday's win over the Pistons. The Clippers fell into an early hole, but Crawford and Blake Griffin put the short-handed squad on their backs in the second half to complete the comeback victory. With Redick sidelined due to back spasms, the 35-year-old Crawford has now scored 55 points over the last two games after averaging just 10.1 points in the eight games prior, and as long as Redick is out Crawford will have short-term value even in shallow leagues.

Clippers' Jamal Crawford: Gets the start Saturday versus Detroit

Crawford will get his first start of the season Saturday versus Detroit, Rowan Kavner of Clippers.com reports. With Chris Paul and J.J. Redick out of Saturday's game, head coach Doc Rivers has played with the starting line up a bit. One result is Jamal Crawford getting his first start of the season over Pablo Prigioni. Crawford should continue seeing more minutes than usual with this shallow backcourt.

Clippers' Jamal Crawford: Posts team-high 18 points Thursday

Crawford posted a season-high 18 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three steals, two assists, and a rebound over 25 minutes in Thursday's 118-104 loss to the Suns. The 18 points also led a short-handed Clippers squad that then lost Blake Griffin with 2:36 left in the first half due to a second technical foul. The veteran guard ended up with only 25 minutes of court time despite the absence of Chris Paul, a number that falls right in line with his typical allotment off the bench on most nights. Crawford can usually be counted on for scoring in the teens but not a lot of other counting stats, as was the case Thursday.

Clippers' Jamal Crawford: Will start in Wednesday's tilt

Crawford will start for the Clippers against Phoenix on Thursday, Ben Bolch of the L.A. Times reports. Crawford will make his first start of the season in place of J.J. Redick (back) on Thursday. The guard has been seeing a good amount of minutes off the bench this season, which makes his replacing of Redick unsurprising given that Crawford likely the number two. It's unclear how long Redick will be out but when he returns Crawford will likely slide back into his backup role.

Clippers' Jamal Crawford: Manages 11 points in 26 minutes Monday

Crawford was cold from the field, but still managed 11 points (2-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT) to go with two rebounds, three assists, and a steal in a win against the Suns on Monday. Crawford logged 26 minutes off the bench, which was the most by any of the Clippers' bench players. He had some troubles putting the ball in the hoop from the field, but was saved by his perfect night at the free throw line. The 35-year-old is historically an excellent free throw shooter, and his offensive production could increase if he continues to get to the line as often as he did Monday, especially if he continues to see this high amount of minutes off the bench.

Clippers' Jamal Crawford: Tallies 15 points Thursday

Crawford tallied 15 points (6-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, and two assists over 17 minutes in Thursday's 104-88 victory over the Mavericks. The ageless veteran appears to have shaken off a preseason triceps injury and already demonstrated the proficiency he has typically displayed in his sixth man role. Crawford is shooting at a 55 percent clip over the first two outings, efficiently producing 26 points over 37 minutes over that span. It appears Crawford is set to provide another season of high-end bench production with an occasional spot start for the Clippers in 2015-16.

Clippers G Jamal Crawford likely available for season opener

Clippers guard Jamal Crawford (triceps) said he feels fine and should be available for the opener against the Kings this Wednesday, Rowan Kavner of NBA.com reports. Crawford bruised his arm during practice this week, but his status for the season opener was never really in jeopardy. The 35-year-old should take over his typical role as instant-offense off the bench for a surprisingly deep Clippers team in 2015.

Clippers' Jamal Crawford: Out Thursday with injury

Crawford won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Trailblazers due to a right triceps contusion. Crawford's contusion reportedly occurred during practice, and the Clippers will take a cautious route with the veteran for Thursday's preseason finale. Barring something unforeseen, it's unlikely the issue will have any impact on his availability for the Clippers' regular season opener next Wednesday against the Kings.
